Whale bone vertebrae

I got these whale bone vertebrae from a fellow who was beach combing on his 4-wheeler about a month ago after a storm.  I heard he had them, so I approached him and bought them from him.
They were still oily and very smelly - I used a pressure washer and clean them up.  Today, I have them on my shop south roof drying and expect they'll be there all summer.   In the fall, when they are dry enough, I'll work them into my art

  1. That is so cool! I have never found anything that huge while combing the beach, but I do know that it can be a lot of fun if you have the right equipment with you to dig down deeper into the sand. There is a potential for innumerable treasures beneath the surface of the beach. All it takes is curiosity.
