This blog shows the folkart I make, my reproduction furniture and other projects. My studio/shop is in my backyard. It's a couple of miles off the main road in West Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada. When you come to visit make sure you see – the "Olde Times" Garden House Museum; Grandma's Attic; the Furniture Box; Grampa's Loft (antiques, old doors, etc. in my Dad’s old barn loft); and my World's Largest Egg Beater, certified by Guinness World Records.

Model T Jack Lamps with License Plate Shades

I made these lamps from using old car jacks for bases - the jacks are from old model T Ford cars.  I  made the three lamps below this week.
I came up with this idea of using Island license plates for a lamp shade - some old, some newer.

Foxes made from Fishing Buoys

I've made sheep, geese, cows and pigs from these old out of the old cedar fishing buoys.  Now, I've worked in a fox too.  The body of the fox is made from an old fishing buoy.  They measure about 8" long x 4" high.
I'm very happy with the way they turned out.  These are for sale.
Here's some other Foxes I've made over the years.

Engine Bonnet Light

My nephew and I were going through a car dump last week and picked up some different things.   From this old engine bonnet I turned into a wall hanging light.

Island License Plate Dust Pans

I came up with another use for Island license plates - a dust pan!

Wine Rack from Hat Case

Last Wednesday I picked up this hat case/box.   I came up with the idea of making it into a wine rack.
You could also use it for a magazine rack rolling up the magazines.

A Heronry (or Rookery) of Great Blue Herons

These great blue herons are always a good seller for me.  The legs are made of steel rebar and the bodies of carved wood.
